Joe Kulick - Band Director
Joe Kulick currently holds a Bachelors Degree from Kansas State University. During his time there, he studied with Dr. Kurt Gartner and was involved in many ensembles, including a student lead Percussion Ensemble, a Jazz Combo, and a Latin Jazz Ensemble. He also won Second place in the Kansas State University Honors Recital, and was a winner of the Concerto Competition, where he had the opportunity to perform with the Kansas State Orchestra. Joe was a member of Green Thunder Percussion (now named Cavalier Indoor) for two years, as well as a member of the Cavalier Drum and Bugle Corps from 2010 to 2013. In 2014, Joe traveled to Cuba to study Latin Percussion with some of the best players in the country, and plans to return to continue his studies.
Joe’s involvement with the Music Technology Committee of Percussive Arts Society, development of a national assessment on music technology, and development of a national assessment in music technology has equipped him to offer his students a cutting-edge education. Joe is also heavily involved in designing and planning marching band shows for various high schools in Kansas, and uses those skills as the Assistant Band Director for East Aurora High School. Joe is very excited to work with the students at East Aurora to continue to grow and develop the quality and quantity of the program and create a musical environment for the East Aurora Community.
